Directions to Envoy Yerevan

Arrive By Airplane

Arriving in Yerevan airport, Zvartnots, there are several transport options to reach Envoy. 

1. By Airport Pick Up
Arrivals at any time in the day 24 hours a day 365 days of the year!

Trip Length: Approximately 25 minutes
Difficulty Rating: Easy – everything is pre arranged so nothing to do but to spot the Envoy Logo sign and your name at the airport
Cost Rating: Medium: 7,500AMD (1-2ppl)/ 13,000AMD (3-5ppl)/ 15,000 (6-10ppl). Larger groups can be arranged too.
Experience Rating: Fantastic! Feel like a celebrity! You will be greeted at the airport by our driver holding a sign for YOU! All that is missing is the red carpet 🙂

2. By Taxi

Trip Length:
Approximately 35 minutes (including time to find Taxi – they are normally plenty waiting
Difficulty Rating: Medium – as you need to agree price with Taxi driver
Cost Rating: Medium – about 3,000 – 5,000 AMD (approx $10-15 USD)
Experience Rating: Average – You will drive through the ‘Las Vegas’ of Yerevan – nothing to write home about 

As you exit the airport look for a marked Taxi with a company logo and has a meter. Best to agree on the fee before you accept the ride. To take a taxi from the airport to Envoy Hostel (at 54 Pushkin St, entrance via Parpetsi St), it will cost approximately 3,000 – 5,000 AMD (the variance depends on time of day eg: 2 pm vs 2 am arrival). 

3. By Bus

Minibus (Airport Express) is an option for arrivals (outside of the arrival terminal) departing daily once every hour.

Trip Length:
Approximately 30 minutes 
Difficulty Rating: Medium. Note buses are available 24/7 departing daily once every hour.
Cost Rating: Cheap! It’s only 300 AMD (approx $1USD) to catch the Minibus! But make sure you change money at the airport for this and try to get small change. 
Experience Rating: Unforgettable experience! You would have experienced public transport, tackled a bit of the language, tested your navigational skills and even seen some of the city has to offer that you might want to go back to!

 

Here’s a step by step guide:

  • Minibus No. 201 runs from the airport to the city center once every hour.
  • To get to the Minibus station, walk outside of the arrival terminal towards the parking lot. You will see a sign for Airport Express.  Catch the No. 201 which will bring you straight to Mashtots- Pushkin bus stop – near KFC. 
  • Tell the driver “Mashtots – Pushkin “kangar” stop” (kangar meaning station) – so he knows to tell you when you get to the correct stop.
  • Pay the driver as you get off (currently 300AMD)
  • When you get off the bus cross the road to the opposite side of Mashtots Ave
  • Walk to Pushkin St and turn right into it (towards Parpetsi St)
  • Walk to the first cross road and turn right into Parpetsi Street – as soon as you turn you will see the Envoy Logo sign at the door
  • Good news you’ve reached home!

Minibus from Zvartnots Airport to Envoy Yerevan

Arrive By Train

Yerevan’s Sasuntsi Davit Train Station is approximately 30 minutes away from Envoy. Here’s how to reach us from the Train Station:

1. By Marshrutka

Trip Length:  Approx. 30 – 45 minutes including bus ride plus walking to the hostel
Difficulty Rating: Medium
Cost Rating: Low – its only 100 AMD (approx 30 cents) to catch the Marshrutka! But make sure you have correct change (Marshrutka drivers dont like giving change). If you have a lot of luggage they are likely to charge for the luggage space taken as additional fare (100AMD per piece of luggage).
Experience Rating: Unforgetable! Marshrutka’s are a fun way to travel around this part of the world – experience how the locals get around!

Here is a step by step guide:

  • Cross the road from the Sasuntsi Davit Train Station and wait for the marshrutka’s passing by
  • Catch a marshrutka (37, 44, or 58) wave for them to stop
  • Tell the driver “Mashtots – Pushkin kaian stop” (Kaian meaning station) – so he knows to point out the correct stop to you.
  • Pay the driver as you get off (currently 100 AMD)
  • When you get off the marshrutka cross the road to the opposite side of Mashtots Ave
  • Walk to Pushkin St and turn right into it (towards Parpetsi St)
  • Walk to the first cross road and turn right into Parpetsi Street – as soon as you turn you will see the Envoy Logo sign at the door
  • Good news you are at home !!

Marshrutka from Sasuntsi Davit Train Station to Envoy

2. By Taxi

Trip Length:  Approx. 10 – 15 minutes
Difficulty Rating: Low
Cost Rating: Medium (approx 1,000 AMD)
Experience Rating: Eh – just another taxi ride 🙂 But if you are looking for comfort and a quick trip, this is your best option.

Cross the road opposite the Sasuntsi Davit Train Station, and flag down a passing Taxi. Make sure you ask the price of the ride before you accept to take the taxi.

3. By Metro
Trip Length:  Approx. 30 – 40 minutes
Difficulty Rating: High
Cost Rating: low (100 AMD)
Experience Rating: Metro is very retro! Enjoy this blast from the past, Soviet era ride!

Here’s a step by step guide:

  • Leave the train station building
  • Find the metro sign and entrance
  • Upon entering the metro station buy a token for AMD 100 for 1 use
  • Wait for the wagon on the left side
  • Boarding at the Sasuntsi Davit metro station, get off at the third stop which is the Republic Square station
  • When leaving the Republic square station, turn left and take the stairs to go up
  • From Nalbandyan street walk up till Sakharov square
  • From the square turn left to Pushkin street and keep going straight
  • Cross Mashtots avenue (the main artery)
  • Next intersection will be Pushkin St with Parpetsi St – turn right and you will see the Envoy Hostel logo sign
  • Good news, you are home 🙂

Metro from Sasuntsi Davit Train Station to Envoy

Arrive By Bus

From Yerevan Bus Station Kilikia to Envoy. 

1. By Bus

(local public transport mini buses)

Trip Length:
Approx. 30 – 40 minutes including walking to the hostel
Difficulty Rating: Medium
Cost Rating: Low – It’s only 100 AMD (approx 30 cents) per person for the bus! But make sure you have change on you. The Bus drivers don’t like giving change.
Experience Rating: Unforgetable! Buses are a fun way to travel around this part of the world – experience how the locals get around!

 

Here is a step by step guide:

  • Cross the road from the Kilikia Bus Stop and wait for the Bus passing by
  • Catch a Bus (5 or 259). Wave for them to stop
  • Tell the driver “Mashtots – Pushkin “kangar” stop” (kangar meaning station – near KFC) – so he knows to tell you when you get to the correct stop.
  • Pay the driver as you get off (currently 100AMD)
  • When you get off the bus cross the road to the opposite side of Mashtots Ave
  • Walk to Puskin St and turn right into it (towards Parpetsi St)
  • Walk to the first cross road and turn right into Parpetsi Street – as soon as you turn you will see the Envoy Logo sign at the door
  • Good news you are at home !!

2. By Taxi

Trip Length:   Approx. 15 – 20 minutes
 Difficulty Rating:  Low
 Cost Rating:  Medium (approx 1000AMD)
 Experience Rating:  Not so exciting – just another taxi ride!

You will need to cross the road from the Kilikia Bus Station and flag down a Taxi. Make sure you ask the price of the ride before you accept to take the taxi.
